About The Triund Trek:

Triund trek is one of the shortest and easiest Himalayan treks with spectacular scenery and a picturesque view of snow-covered Dhauladhar ranges and Kangra valley.

This two days short trek can easily be done on a weekend. Most of us barely get enough time to travel, explore new places and go on an adventurous trip. Triund trek allows us to explore the beauty and calmness of Himalayans, this trek might be short but it will; surely give you a little taste of adventure as the trail is a little steep at some points.

How to reach:

Gaggal Airport or Kangra Airport at Dharamshala is about 20 km away from McLeod Ganj and is well connected to Delhi, Kullu, and Chandigarh. A number of state-owned and private buses connect McLeod Ganj with other cities like Delhi, Chandigarh, and Dharamshala. Pathankot Railway Station, situated approximately 90 km away, is the closest broad gauge railhead serving those headed to McLeod Ganj. 

Triund Trek Itinerary

Day 1
Triund Trek | Trek towards the Highest Waterfall of McLeod Ganj
McLeod Ganj

Duration: 3-4 hours | Elevation: 2,828 m

  • Arrive at the Bhagsu Nag Taxi Stand before 10:00 AM and begin the Triund Trek Himachal Pradesh.
  • Start your trek towards the biggest waterfall in McLeodganj and a feast to one's eyes. 
  • Stop by your campsite at Leta/ Mana village to have refreshments (at your own expense) and get back to the journey.
  • Unload your burden of bags at your campsite in Leta/Mana village. Make a stop to have refreshments (at your own expense) and get back to the journey.
  • As you move towards the top, enjoy the picturesque views of Kangra valley on one side and the Dhauladhar mountain range on the other.
  • When facing north you will see magnificent Dhauladhar mountains across the Triund valley and the beautiful town of Mcleodganj.
  • After enjoying the picturesque views for an hour or two, start your descend.
  • Trek down towards the campsite at Leta/Mana village and reach the destination for taking a break after a tiresome day.
  • Relish the amazing experience of bonfire along with dinner(around 8 PM) with some soothing music under the sky full of stars.
Day 2
Triund to Mcleodganj | End of Trip With a Bag Full of Life Time Memories

Duration: 3-4 hours | Elevation: 2,828 m

  • Wake up to a mesmerizing sunrise in the mountains and feast on a fulfilling breakfast.
  • Explore the mystical views of the surroundings and interact with the local people.
  • Enfold the soothing scenery of a herd of sheep grazing in the green meadows as you descend.
  • Later, enjoy a fun tea session in a tea shack by the ridge and enjoy the views of Kangra Valley at the same time.
  • Reach back to the start point(at around 12:30 PM)
  • Triund trek ends here with a bag full of memories to cherish for a lifetime.

Know Before You Go for Triund Trek

  • All the activities depend upon the weather.
  • Keep your luggage minimum; the more you carry, the more you hassle.
  • Guidelines issued by the State-Government are to be followed. Social distancing to be maintained. Frequent hand sanitisation and use of mask recommended.
  • Please carry a valid ID proof at the time of the activity.
  • Since its difficult to provide all the facilities in the mountains, one must not expect luxuries. Electricity may be available only at a few locations.
  • Bonfire would be dependent on weather conditions.
  • In case of bad weather any Govt restriction, the campsite location might change to Dharamkot
  • Any personal expenses, items of personal nature, meals not mentioned, etc. will not be in part of the Triund trek package.
  • Carry dry snacks/food from home. Carry water bottles with you, so that you can refill.
  • The management reserves all the right to modify the triund trek during any emergencies or natural calamities.
  • The Triund trek takes place through an eco-friendly zone; do not encourage littering the local sites or campsites. Travellers littering may be fined.
  • Children below the age of 7 years are not recommended for Triund trek.
  • It is recommended to carry season wise clothes and the right kind of shoes for the Triund trek.
